wedding snapshots: the ceremony

Just a quick note to say that if all the wedding fever that has somewhat taken over my blog lately is becoming tedious then please accept my apologies! There will be a few more wedding posts to come but then I promise I will very soon get back to posting a more varied range of inspirational images, words and photography.

Here I will share some snapshots of our main wedding, though these are not the professional photographers pictures, which we haven't even seen yet- I can't wait! They are a combination of shots taken by family and friends. I thought I'd break them down into three different posts- first the ceremony, then the champagne & canape reception, and finally the meal, speeches and evening celebration.

So let's kick off the proceedings with the morning preparations and the ceremony...

(the top image is of little bags of confetti filled with real dried flower petals. The bags were stamped by my sister and her boyfriend with the stamp that she designed and had made for us).

Photo credits - These images were taken by Curt's Dad Peter, his best man Brode, and my friends Jo & Laura.

So very very pretty! You are gorgeous btw, and the ceremony took place in such an enchanted place! What is that dome like place the ceremony was in???

these are not tedious AT ALL, you look so beautiful, your dress is just gorgeous (who was the maker?), and your little girl looks so sweet in her dress. Catherine x

Thanks so much Tali and Catherine, you are both so sweet.

The dome like place that the ceremony took place in is in the gardens of my parents farm which is on the site of what used to be a huge country house which was built in the 1800's. The dome is a decorative grotto which was built in the formal gardens of the house back in 1883. The country house itself fell into disrepair and was demolished long before my family moved there. The stable block and coach house which belonged to the big house is now the farm house where my parents live.

Catherine, my dress is by the bridal designer Maggie Sottero. I bought it from a bridal shop in Wimbledon which was only the second shop I looked in! It wasn't the kind of style I was originally looking for (I thought I'd get a more simple, grecian style design) but when I tried this one on I couldn't resist it!
